This umbrella seems pretty sturdy and provides good shade. It has an attached strap that you can use to hold the umbrella in the down position. This came in very handy yesterday when we had a lot of wind. I rolled down all 3 of my umbrellas but this umbrella is the only one that had an attached strap to keep it closed. Helped to keep it from being caught up in the wind.I got this umbrella because the price was so great. I got one of that said open box , an it was under 20$ with tax an all . I wasn’t expecting it to be amazing for that price. I opened it an put it up an it’s so nice it had one small nick on one end of the umbrella ribs. Other then that it seams to be perfect the color was exactly what I saw in the pic a true turquoise for sure. I can’t wait for spring! I’ll update once I use it an it’s out in the sun an will see how it goes.FYI: It’s made very well an it was easy to put up an down. It says it has water an sun protection ! I’m so excited☀️Ok: update: here is the scoop! I put it up 3 times on the fourth time it will not stand up strait on its own. It continues to tilt with out pushing the button on the side of the pole. So I called amazon an they gave me a choice to return full refund, or get a 35% discount on it an keep it. So I’m going to try to get it fixed an save the shipping it back. I really loved it an never even had a chance to enjoy it for the spring summer months.You have to be close (at the least about 2 feet) from someone to share this umbrella; there is not anyway to turn it so it actually covers both people, and it is clumsy to use. I like the color though and it is pretty.This umbrella is sturdy, originally I liked that you can tilt it and can give shade when the sun is on the side. But, as you can see, the red color is basically gray now. The umbrella is out just 3 months out of the year so it has pretty much lost the color in 6 months.I purchased this back in the summer and now it's November and was taken down for the winter last month, so I haven't had it long enough yet to know about long-term durability, but I am a little nervous about the raising and lowering crank mechanism, because I noticed that after a short while of having it, every time I would start to raise it from a closed position, there was a funny popping or cracking sound in (I think) the crank handle area just for a second when it would first get started going up. This makes me wary that it may not be right and may possibly break prematurely; I don't remember reading any other reviews that talked about this sort of thing.On another note, the umbrella is beautiful in both its design (I love the little separate flap around the top that's for venting purposes) and color (beautiful tropical blue water color), and the end of each spoke is bolted or screwed on to the fabric with some kind of little metal part, which should help the fabric last longer in staying attached. I noticed when taking the umbrella down after being up for 2-3 months that the fabric had several bug stains and had also faded just a little bit, so I assume that must be par for the course.As for functionality of keeping the sun off you, that works GREAT!! And the color makes me feel like I'm on vacation : )Purchased umbrella in 2020, used perhaps one dozen times in 2020, 2021. Stored indoors from September to May each year. One week ago the handle crank broke making it impossible to open umbrella. It sure was a nice umbrella while it lasted but we expected more than years of use than we got.This umbrella is very strong and very easy to be installed. Also the color was as it was expected and the accessories . I will recommend it to buy it and it beat all the competitive storeWe have a prime membership and this arrived sooner than anticipated. We replaced all the cushions on our outdoor patio furniture and I was looking for a new umbrella to match. All the local home improvement stores in my area had already clearanced out their outdoor umbrellas, so I decided to give this Amazon one a try. I was one of the people that had asked if this color was a turquoise or teal blue (back when the color description for this item just said "blue".)It isn't a perfect color match, but you would never know it. It complements our set perfectly and just gives it that perfect pop of color and invites everyone who sees it to sit down and relax. The umbrella fits perfectly into the standard umbrella stands we already own, and is very sturdy. Cranking it up and tilting it is not too difficult, and the elastic cinch is nice. The fabric is polyester and on the thinner side compared to other polyester umbrellas sold at local home improvement stores. It still does a good job of blocking the sun albeit you might be disappointed if you're looking for something that will cast a completely dark shadow over you.The pic of the open umbrella demonstrates the amount of shade produced at 2pm on a west-facing porch on a cloudless 85° day in the midwest. Fantastic!I hope to buy one more of these before the end of summer.This is a nice umbrella and obviously good quality. Beautiful turquoise colour. My issue is the "easy push button tilt" is anything but easy. It took three of us to tilt it! And then I couldn't straighten it when I was alone, which meant I couldn't lower the umbrella. A gust of wind caught it and started dragging it, along with the stand, across my balcony. It took all my frustrated and stressed out strength to push it back straight. Had to return.It has made our sunny balcony so pleasant on the blazing sunshine! We were disappointed that it was the only colour left, but we actually love it.I have only used it a couple of times but it appears to be well built.Had it a full year+, didn't fade, look and works great!Perfect colour to match our new patio set. It arrived packaged safely. Set up is super simple. Perfect compliment to our patio.
